El-Ghadi Family Finished and Delivered

Last month I brought the finished family portrait to it's new home. I am so glad that I got the chance to do this work for them. I had to make some changes along the way. The son's head was redone and you can see from the previous post that many other minor changes were made. This was the most people I have had on one canvas making it my most challenging work to date but now I am eager to take on the challenge of more of these larger works.

My thanks go to the El-ghadi's for choosing me to paint their family and for the kindness and openness that they have shown to me throughout this long and happy process.

Another Easel

I have pulled out my half easel, put a couple of screws in the palette that it came with which holds all of the contained materials in the box when it is closed but is not very good as a pallet. I used it today for painting #2 and it is all set up to start painting #3 tomorrow. Today's painting I spent 5 hours on! That was a long time. I want to keep the painting down to 3 or 4 hours.

This weekend I have plans to paint my sister Maureen who has volunteered to model for me! I hope it does not rain all weekend but I guess I can paint her in the rain! We plan to do this at the Kinsale Inn in Mattapoisett. I haven't asked them yet so I don't know if this is even possible but we will try. I would love to paint some Daily Paintings of that place! It is very historic and very alive with music and good people!
